Case Study - Adelaide Zoo (photos left)
Architects designing new areas at the Adelaide Zoo required a finish for new pathways and animal enclosures which looked rustic enough to belong on the floor of a jungle while also being functional and serviceable.

Panorama installed Boral coloured concrete in a sandstone colour with a salt wash finish to give a pitted appearance to the finished product. In some areas, stencils of palm leaves were also used to give a unique visual effect.

At the Architect's request Panorama created a play deck with an aboriginal theme using stains at the Womens & Childrens Hospital - included in the design were inlays of pebble circles (pictured above).

Hand crafted finishes use integral coloured concrete and are ideal for areas which need to be very flat; for instance, Nursing Homes and Schools or in entertaining areas of houses. Patterns are saw cut into the slab in rectangular and square designs of any size. The slab can have a smooth or sand blasted finish - allowing some aggregate to show through.
